still no start

I have spark and fuel but it still will not start the car has sat for about 4 years as far as i no of i just bought it. It will try to with starting fluid but it just doesnt want to do anything

Did you drain and refill the tank with fresh fuel?

why has the car not started in 4 years? and to clarify I'm guessing we're talking abotu an 84 z31?

also, how do you know you are getting spark? how do you know you are getting fuel? often people only thinnk they have both, and if you do and the car won't start then you are lacking combustion which would indicate a blown hg, broken timing belt, etc
