Wondering if anyone has CF wrapped their steering wheel? Mine is starting to peel around the corners near the controls, I think its a known issue.

I plan on doing matte black. It should look similar to stock. Mine is peeling also.

Mine is also peeling and is on the list I'm compiling for Infiniti warranty service.

So far I also have:

Cooled seats not really cooling
Driver side door armrest caved in
Steering wheel peeling

I recall trying to get my steering wheel for my 07 M45 replaced through Infiniti and they tried to tell me it was a wear and tear item smh.

Was it during new car warranty period? I could see it as an excuse for an extended warranty claim that typically doesn't cover squeaks, rattles, seals, wind noise, discoloration/fading/cracking of finishes etc...

Ilya - would be interested to hear about your experience once you attempt the fix.

If they tell me it's wear and tear I'm going to blow a gasket and Infiniti corporate will get a call. My car has 60kmi. It should not be wearing already. My 2007 had 140kmi and didn't have this issue.

Valid; it was indeed during the extended warranty period.

Unfortunately like I previously quoted, these items re explicitly excluded in the elite coverage contract. I think Ilya will have a hard sell to get it covered, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I'll definitely keep everyone posted. I'll seriously make a stink if this gets denied...that's ridiculous.

I hope so. I ended up having to buy a used one and swapping them out, that was fun *sigh*

Seems that issue is not unusual in the newer design steering wheel. Maybe if enough people make a stink at corporate, Infiniti might take some action. I fear it might end up without a good result, like the Ms with the cracked dashes but it's always worth trying.
