Try unpluging the VVT Unit's sub wire. If I remember correctly there is a plug that goes directly into it and one that comes from it on a gray looking wire. I remember the first time I tried starting mine it would act similar and the second I unpluged that connection on the gray wire to the VVT unit it fired right up after 2 more tires. It might be similar to what you are experiencing and might not be but its worth a shot. The only other thing I can think it might be is to check the wiring on the relays that were added for the ECCS, FUEL and Ignitors. One of them might be getting a drop power/signal after the key has gone from the start position to the run position and that is causing it to start but the second the key hits the run position one of them might be loosing its signal to send power and cuting out and shutting it down that quick.
