starting issue

I have a 2000 I30t with 123,000 miles on it. The car has started acting funny. it will start when it is cold but if you drive it 10 miles or more you have to wait about two hours or more before it will start again.
I'm assuming it is the Starter cause when it dose start it has a whin to it.
How do you know which starter to get. I have found eight to 11 tooth starters. not sure which one to get for my car which is V-6 3.0
Any info welcomed.

I would simply go to a AutoZone-style parts place and ask for a re-manufactured replacement.
