Hey guys

I have a 93 240sx hatchback....just finished doing a dual cam s14 ka24de swap... The motor was running in a friends 240 before and I know for sure it had no problems...after everything was finished I went to start the car....it would start then idle at 2/2.5 rpms then go up to about 3.5 rpms and then just turn off....I checked pretty much everything I can think off....

Does any one have any clue what might be wrong...

Is it the idle control valve...

Could be a ground wire somewhere that I missed...

I mean I know the motor was running fine before so it had to me something I did or didn't do...

Please any help will be greatly appreciated....

Wrong forum, but did you remember to hook up the air temp sensor?

Moved to 240 tech.
Does it start right back up after dieing? Will it continue to run if you give it gas?

Once it dies it just dies....it doesn't start back up...and if I give it gas it will rev up but it sounds like it's struggling ....

The timing was fine before the swap and it was not messed with so it shouldn't be a factor....

If I missed a ground wire could that be thE problem?????

Or what about the icv.

I had a similar problem, idling at 2k rpm and would die right after and it turned out to be the timing.

Ok.... So today I tried to fix the idle problem....I did a few things....I got some carb cleaner and sprayed in the throttle body...read somewhere that doing so while caris running can clean the iacv....no difference...moved the distributed cap around a lil figured might adjust the timing somewhat.... Nothing....then I disconnected th tps and tried Adjusting the idle...nothing...something dawned on me and told me to change the ecu.... So I changed it and now the it idles under 1000 rps... But...it idles really hard...the engine is shaking like crazy...and when I give it gas it gags and is really ruf at first but then revs and sounds a lil better....

Im pretty sure it's the timing...can anyone confirm...or does anyone else have any ideas....

Thanks

Yeah sounds like timing of some sort (ignition or valve).
