does your 720 have a place to mount speakers in the kick panel under the fuse block? my 720 has no place for a radio but has spots for speakers

Yes, my truck had speakers under the kick panels. They were shot. I wanted better quality sound than I could get from a speaker that small anyway. Since I really didn't see a good way to use the kick panel area for a bigger speaker, I decided to put them in the doors. I think the installation I did will also work for 6X9 speakers mounted vertically or diagonally. Of course, the spacer shape would be different, but the whole concept would be just about the same.

Most people use the little box in the center of the dash. It is removable, the dash I recently installed in my truck had it set up like that. It is easier to install it with the dash removed, which takes about 30 minutes to do.

i couldn't read the speaker boatman did you go with 5.25's or 6.5's for this particular installation? I placed mine at the kick (under the fuse box, but I had to make an offset too for depth. I've seen a fellar wedge a 6.5 in there with like 3/4" MDF but I thought it was a pain just fitting 5.25's in there (only used a 1/4" off set though (foam). I'm sure your place men is better on the ears. the kick is like the worst possible place you can put a speaker for sound qual.

I really liked your instructional there.

did you already have speaker wires going to the door, or how did you wire them through the kick plate to the door?

I just ran the wires from under the dash, then made enough slack to cross the open door jamb. Then under the door panel. The wires are NOT actually inside the door jamb when the door is closed. It's a crude setup, but invisible when the door is closed. I'll post a picture later.

OK, here it is. Not very impressive is it? LOL!
