Hi.
I've changed air intake filters on 94 TT with stock air box couple of days ago. Yesterday i had 3 stalls in neutral at 60-80 MPH. Does not stall at lower speeds though.
Did not have that problem before filter change. Where do i start looking?
Thanks.

Were your old filters super dirty or something?
The only thing I can think of is that your engine is now sucking in more air than the ECU is used to, and the ECU isn't compensating like it should... so either your MAF got dirty in the process, or maybe you just need to reset the ECU. Those would be the simple things to check first anyway.

Does it still stall if you go to neutral after riding a gear down, or are you shifting into neutral after accelerating? Are your blow off valves or recirc valves hooked up correctly?

Did you install K&N or some other type of oiled media filter? Are you sure you didn't damage the connection to the MAF in the process.

The filters i got were oem filters. The old ones were very dirty(just bought a car). It stalls when shifting from 5th to neutral at high speeds only on a freeway. It seemed like the all lights went on and off for a few times really quick before the stall. Looked like it did not want to stall :) If that sounds right. I am pretty new to the car. How do i reset the ECU? Also will check the connecter and clean the MAF.

You can clean the MAF using MAF sensor cleaner spray available at most auto parts stores. To heck the connection you can do a visual check or follow the procedure in the FSM for a more through test. To reset the ECU you disconnect the battery for ~10 seconds and reconnect it. May be a good idea to check for vacuum leaks past the MAF as well.

Hi, Sorry for a delay.
This is what I’ve done/discovered so far.
Cleaned Air box and air flow meter and connector, reset ecu and the problem is still there. No change at all. Then yesterday I’ve discovered that a plastic pipe (air duct) that goes from the air box on the passenger side is disconnected from the next pipe that I think goes to turbo. It will take some elbow grease to reconnect the pipes together due to a lack of space. Can that cause a problem? I believe the pipes were disconnected for a long time and did not cause any problems or maybe I’ve not noticed it.

That is a picture of the air duct that is disconnected
