srt-4 vs. ka24et

i raced an srt-4 2nite with my ka24et 240sx. lost by car. the srt-4 had aem cold air, nx ntercooler kit, upgraded wastegate, and 15psi. it was from a stop. he pulled off the line then it was pretty even until the end in which i started to pull but had to brake because we were coming up to the end of the road. those damn srt-4s are quick. he said he smokes the stock ones. so who knows. from a roll i would of taken him. but 195 passenger tires dont give good launches especially without lsd. be safe.just look at my sig... gave him a head start. t3/t04e 60trim .82a/r vs. 16g dsm turbo.

the thing runs a 13.7 at 105, showed me the timeslip. i have yet to run but i am only running 9-11psi so it dont matter. it really impressed me. i have beat 3 c5 vettes but those were from a roll. who knows maybe its a factory freak. but it is a 2.4l with one more cam then me. and 4-6psi more.

I wouldn't be embarassed about that..those lil *****es are quick. Just check up on him in 100k miles or so and see if his car is still running like that

my friend has a 2002 civic EX with AEM cold air, DC sports twin can exhaust, and an NX wet 50 shot, and he spanks SRT's.His car is faster than mine right now too, by a little bit.without the spray I eat him alive.

You either need to run a ton more boost or get rid of that turbo....A 50 trim with a .63 AR and you'll be beating your SRT-4 friend.

Not that the SRT4 isn't quick, but you should atleast be the one out launching him, he's fwd for christs sakes. Lose those pizza cutters you got on the back.

yeah. i plan on getting new tires and rims soon and an lsd and then turn up the boost to 18-22psi just waiting to get my ecu back. the car is very untuned right now. that is the reason i chose the 60 trim .82a/r and i love the top end it gives. thanx for the comments. peace

you cant out run an srt-4 but you can take vettes on a roll?? auto vettes maybe, b/c a vette will trap 110-114 bone stock in 6 speed form....

i actually love the c5s. suprised me the first race i had with a lightly modded c5 when i took him by a fender and that was from a 50 roll to 115. his exhaust was soooo loud but sounded so nice. they are quick cars but not as fast as you would think.

My conclusion from everyone who says they beat z06's all the time is either 1) they don't know what a z06 is, 2) they guy in the z06 either wasn't racing or was just playing with them, or 3) they are lying.granted there are a few cars around that can spank them in a straight line, but they are incredibly fast, especially on a road course.

Did anyone read the article in Car and Driver named Fourgasm? They had all these great tuned 4 cylinders (comptech S2000) Rhys Millen's Evo etc. and in the end they ran a Z06 through the same road course...yep, it beat them all by at least 1.5 seconds. I'm not saying that a 4 cylinder can't beat one, because there are cars that can do it, just that the Z06 is a great sports car in terms of power and handling.

i agree, i dont think i could take a z06. but who knows. i love the way they look, sound and how they handle. i think my dream domestic car would be lingenfelter vette. those r sweet.

i saw a vette on the freeway the other day... i was gonna try to see how well i would do against him until i pulled up to it and saw the 409hp emblem on the front fender... i just went into the carpool lane...hit 72mph and turned the cruise control back on...

Well 95_240sx's car ran a 12.2..........so I think he has some room to talk. And remember most of the guys driving Z06's are older men, I don't think that they drive their car very fast a lot. So if you roll up on one and spank it then, yes, most of the time it will be because of an inexperienced driver, but even then they are quick little buggers.

OT: How did we jump from an SRT-4 to a z06?

A stock hardtop auto will not run 12's...ever (not unless someone at Chevrolet decided to do some serious port matching, polishing...etc).

Unless I misread earlier, the z06 was the hot topic and he quoted a person sayin a z06 running 12s...and that the stock hardtop wouldn't run 12s....but he stuck Auto in there.

He must be talking about a regular vette, not the z06..even though he quoted the fella talking about z06 times.

well the srt-4 race was less than an 1/4 of a mile and i have 195 passenger tires. but i i raced one stock auto c5 and beat him by about 2 cars. raced a c5 manual with intake, exhaust and flywheel and just barely beat him and the last one i have no idea what it had done but beat him by 1 car. i know i could not take a z06 at least not yet;)
