As far as the videos, nicely detailed, and definitely excellent visual aids! If you are spending a couple or more grand on the swap, $50 ain't going to change much and the video will help. The wiring DVD was a bit confusing in the beginning as to what harness they were modifying first, but that may have just been me not paying attention for the part that they said that.
I was both happy and disappointed that the swap was done on a lift. It gave the camera a better look at what everyone was doing, but the way that the engine was installed didn't really help too much. Also I'm not using the RB crossmember becasue I did not get the engine out of a clip, just out of a friend's Skyline he was selling as a roller. It would have been cool if they used the McKinny mounts, but oh well, can't help some things. I am using the Greddy intake mani though
As for the small details I was not happy with that possibly could be improved in future videos - the sound was sometimes muffled like it was under or over driven sometimes. I don't know what camera/audio equipment you were using, but the easiest thing to do would be keep the audio normal and mess with it in post to keep it more uniform.- the autofocus was usually focused on something too far away and left the closer portion out of focus (unscrewing bolts, wiring, etc). It is nothing that really hinders the viewr's understanding, but it was kinda annoying for the detail work.- For a lot of the under-car shots I would have liked to see more zoomed out or farther away shots to get a better understanding where the part is on the car. Again, it does not hinder the understanding, but might make it better if there were more overview shots.
Great job guys, definitely helped!
thanks for the feedback,
-we produced the swap DVD but not the wiring DVD
-The RB DVD was the first DVD in our series and we did not have a reliable microphone for this FIRST title so we purchased the BEST microphone that we could get for the rest of the series, Just listen to the trailers for the 7 other titles on Youtubehttp://
www.youtube.com/user/driftingcom
-the autofocus fails sometimes in low light conditions, again this was the only DVD where we did NOT use our lighting setup throughout the entire DVD. If you watch the end you can see the difference (Ex. Fuel Pump Section)
glad that you found this title to be detailed and useful!!
thanks again!!!
