speaking of ECUs and PowerFCs and SRs

who was running the SR ecu on a CA? what sr was it (red/black?)

and do you have the color charts or pin diagrams you used offhand?

(just to save some time if you already have it, no need to redo a few hours of work matching up ECU pinouts if its already done)

I don't think you can just put an SR ecu on a CA... it has to be retuned to run a CA. The guy that did it worked at JWT and had them re-map it. They also sell jumper harnesses in Japan for this if you want a simple install. Otherwise go download the FSM for both motors, and match pin for pin. I would assume the colors would be the same for most stuff.

i 'think' the S14 SR ECU plug is the same as the CA plug, the benifit of a SR ecu 16 bit mapping, and more available rom tuners.

If you run a d-jetro PFC (which is the only reason I could think to do this) you can dtich the MAF. Apex'i never made a D-J PFC for the CA.

I'm pretty sure the S13 SR won't bolt up, mainly because no one has ever mentioned it before.

I'm pretty sure the connectors look different too..

so how sure are you of that?

well I am saying with conversion harness. because I was running 62 ecu .. and now runing blacktop power fc. so that is why I know it works..

I never really interested on putting s14 ecu on ca harness . and to be honest I dont know.

anyway..

good luck

it bolts up != it bolts up with a conversion harness :P

yes you said you are using a harness earlier in the thread, but when you just said "it bolts up" that means something different.

it's fine if you've got the SR ECU and a conversion harness, but if you have nothing, it makes more sense to try and get the S14 (if it really bolts up), since getting a conversion harness + S13 SR ECU is likely a bit more difficult than getting a S14 SR ECU..

I'm gonna have to find someone local one of these days w/ a S14 SR and see if I can plug in my chopped up 2nd harness into his ECU

It has consult instead of green and red led, 64 point VQ map like the rest of the Nissan ECUs, and last but not least, you can use http://www.BikiRom.com to tune it, datalog it, and in the not so distant future, change the MAF for MAP
