I've noticed that Eibach says that their prokit and sportline springs are incompatible with the S13 240sx Convertible. Does anyone know as to why this is? I've asked some people who used the prokit on their convertible, and they said it worked fine. Anyone care to enlighten me?

I was thinking it's probably due to the convertible top- weight distribution? I don't know; does anyone know for sure?

no idea, but the only thing diff. on the car is the top, no suspension differences or anything. i don't know why eibach would say that.

Actually, the rear suspension is different, the front is identical. I don't know what the difference is really, i think it has something to do with the shocks/struts. If you use your stock shocks you should be fine i guess....

if you look at summitracing.com, you will find different shocks for the convert, but the part number is the same, they are just listed seperatly, odd. Anyway, just give eibach a call and see what they have to say.

hmm.. I don't see any springs for the convertible. All the descriptions say EXCLUDING the convertible.

I have a S-13 1993 convertible and when I called the part Co. They said it had to do with the frame of the convertible. It is design to take all the flex where the hard tops- the roof helps supports the frame. Please do not take this as any hard proven fact this is just what I was told when I researched it about a month ago. I am not a mechanical wizzard, nor do I claim to be.

Hey topless do you have springs/struts on your convertible? and if not, are you planning to get some? If so, which kind? I know a guy named Todd on this board with a white convertible, and he's running tokico blues with eibach pro-kit and he seems not to have any problems with it. Any input would be appreciated!

And I'm sure the converatable is much heavier. That might have something to do with it (just a guess, not 100% sure).

This is my opinion but I think it is more of a liability clause on the part of the suspension kit manufacturers. Our convertible IS a Japanese built coupe that was fitted with the ragtop and hardware when it got to the American plant. I really can't believe that Nissan America was manufacturing a special rearend suspension for a limited edition model car. If you are looking for low profile try going to a smaller wheel with low profile tires.
