So guys and gals I need some advice. I am going to try and get the J all fancied up this spring so that its as close as I can get to mint. I need to firstly do some regular maintenance. Fuel injectors have to be done, alternator is going to get replaced along with a new battery. I am going to do the breaks.

Then I need to buy some rims. I am going to try and get 8 tires going. So I will buy 20's and put my all seasons on them and then put some winters on the factory rims. I live in Western Canada, any suggestions for wheel purchase?

Lastly I am thinking paint job. I have some car cancer and some is exposed. Is it worth fixing? If so, ideas?

I am going to try and keep you posted on the work once the build starts.

There will also be some fun JDM mods of course since Dave is going drifting in Jap!

Just remember, "rust never sleeps" and if there are obvious cosmetic signs of rust, other parts are affected too.

Having lived in CA all my life I, I'd look for a really clean rust-free J30. A lot of them are very well maintained until they due for another timing belt change, an injector fails or worst case, the transmission goes, plus J30 fuel mileage isn't that great, so the bargins are out there, but I know what it's like to grow attached to what is already yours or maybe you will have a good parts car.

How about taking it in for a full paint job at a body shop?
