The interior of my Versa Hatch (as I will call if for now) is flat woven cloth. So let me get this straight, it is Canadien spec Versa SL, but it was probably made in Mexico and then sold in the U.S. I appreciate all the info. I'm just curious about the vehicle. Is there anything else anybody can tell me about Canadien spec. vehicles? I still like My automatic. I wish I got the extra couple mpg's that CVT is supposed to give you but I still have averaged 30 mpg in the first two tanks (city/highway).

Congratulations on your purchase! What color, and what kind of options did you end up with.?

I'll post picks tomorrow but it just a Black simple SL with CVT. No sport or tech package.

I was looking over moding the taillights which is the one thing that bug me. I found these...Not sure if they will fit a 2008 though.

$250

$200

Look pretty snazzy on a black car. I'm still trying to find taillight tinting but I don't even know where to begin looking. LOL

That sounds about correct. And if your odometer measures in miles instead of km, you have one of the "Defective" Canadian Versas. It might be something to pay attention to in the morning... see how long it takes to tick over a "mile" on the odometer.

The Canadian Versas are very similar to the US Versas, except no TPMS, and a couple other packaging details.

Funny you should mention that, I was watching it this morning. I swear it took longer to go a mile. how will that play out with miles per gallon. I am definitely not a mathmatician. However I do understand probability.

Hmm... that's actually not the answer I was expecting. I was expecting a "mile" to click over in a really short manner (as in, actually a kilometer, not a mile).

If your odometer isn't reading right, take it to the dealer and have them fix or replace it.

Just make sure before you take it there, you use mileage post signs and your trip odometer to make sure your odometer is calculating mileage at the right rate.

The dealer didn't know and you bought it anyway? You may have paid steak price for hamburger (or prime rib price for pot roast, or . . . well, you get the picture).

That's just hard to believe. You pay a sizeable premium for the CVT so how anyone would not know is .......suspicious.

Here's how to tell if you have CVT. Let off on the gas as you approach a light, just coasting. If you feel the car downshift, it's CVT. This happens in any coasting situation with this transmission.

Reading this thread, now I'm concerned that my SL purchased with 30 miles might have been abusively test driven in this pre-break-in period. I was encouraged to "floor it", which I did briefly, just to see what it had. I bought the same car I tested in and I suppose several others tested it in a similar manner to put 30 miles on it. Should I be concerned this abuse could have damaged the car before the break-in period? What kind of issues could crop up as a result of full-throttle testing? I'm driving it carefully until I get 1,000 miles on it but I wonder if the damage could already be done!

Don't pay the $200 or $250! I got those same taillights and paid $50 each on ebay! i can't remember the business that sold them to me, but they're always on ebay. They should fit, I have'nt put them on yet, I have to mod them with LED side lights and reflectors. For a $100US they're a deal, $200, I don't know.
