Special Ordering Altima Coupe HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?!?!?!?!

I WAS HOPING TO BECOME PART OF THE TEAM IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT..... Man, I was disappointed to hear when the dealer told me that they did not have the Altima Coup I had in mind in stock on the whole east coast. I wanted an Altima Coupe 3.5SE 6 speed manual. I Dont need Premium or Tech package... I just have my heart set on the3.5SE manual transmission... Color doesnt even matter as long it isnt that white color, i forgot what they call itThe dealer said he can either special order it but he does not know how long it will take or i can settle for the 4 cylinder coupe. I told the dealer i would get back to him tomorrow... Man I am a fan of Manual transmission and I dont want to be stuck for years with a car I am not happy with. Those who special ordered theres or know people who did, How Long Does it Take? What is the longest you heard of people waiting for special ordereing cars... Should I Settle for a 4 cylinder manual or a 6 cylinder auto? What yall think...I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE YALL SUGGESTIONS SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LEAVE SUGGESTIONS TO HELP ME MAKE A DECISION... I DONT HAVE INTERET ACCESS AT WORK SO IF YALL COULD EMAIL ME AT [email protected] and i can check your suggestions on my phone, I can get my Gmail from my phone

i have no idea how long it takes, but if color, package types, engine, and trans really mean alot to you then i recommend ordering and waiting or email me your prefs and i can have a friend that's a nissan salemen do a search in your area that your dealership might not be offering you due to the fact they would rather sell a car right off there lot than you go to another dealership.

I ordered mine on Nov. 23...Dark Slate 3.5SE premium package and VDC..dealership the order through to nissan on 12/12 (apparently they can only order in the beginning of the month, 2 other cars were ordered with mine in Dec. but were ordered on 12/4, dunno why)...currently my baby has a vin number and the ETA is the week of 2/1/08...so thats about 10 weeks about since I went in?? Hope that helps

Could take a little time. Manual trans in these cars are becoming harder to come by. I was EXTREMELY lucky. I waited 1 WEEK, yes 1 WEEK.

Mine, 6 spd, 3.5, precision grey, premium and nev (all specific).... ordered early August recieved mid October.

I've heard that Nissan is really trying to push their CVT transmission.

I also waited 10 weeks for mine (2.5S, 6MT, Azure Blue w/Blond Interior, Conv. Pkg, Moonroof). I ordered in early July 2007 and got it mid September 2007.

It's definately worth the wait. Do not settle on a different engine or transmission if it's not what you want. You will regret it. I almost took a stock code red coupe without any options or packages from a dealer's lot. I am so glad that I didn't!

I'm pretty much with everyone else, special ordered mine in Sept and picked up the car 2 days before Christmas. 3.5SE Premium Package 6 speed MT. WELL worth the wait.

SHIFT_COUPE.. think you're lucky? I went in and found the perfect car on the lot. Dealer gave me 1k off sticker and I drove it off a few days later. Black 2.5s with a convenience package but NO sunroof since it lowers the roof even more and I'm pretty tall. Prem pack would have been nice but not worth the money imo.. and tech package? Well i already have a portable navi so i dont need another.

I think you answered your own question about settling for what the dealer already has... As for waiting for an ordered one to arrive, from what I've ready, the general wait time is 10 wks, and from what 've read on here it's pretty spot on... Good Luck!

i looked online and found my baby was on a lot nearby with the color, trans, prem. package, and vdc exactly how i was going to order it. guess i just got lucky, but i would have waited cause i was completely set on the dark slate and prem package in a 6 speed. took a long time, but i conviced them to give me mine under 29k which is a pretty good price for such a new and in high demand model.

Hard to say, We are on the opposite sides. But I will share my story with you.

I placed a special order for my 3.5SE Coupe and it Cam EXACTLY 50 days later! !!! Which was in the time line that the dealer told me. If ur not looking to wait I would just get the 2.5 S. But if ur going to put all this money into a car why not have it the way u want?

I just decided to wait it out that way I'll be 100% happy!

I waited 9.5 weeks for my 2.5 CVT. My location may have played a part in the extended wait. Good luck!

It may take longer, but ordering your vehicle ensures that you get what you want, like V just stated.

east coast i was told by mutliple dealers that they would only be recieving the manual with a premium package but it is 1-4 months to get a basic 3.5 6mt, but that was back in like sept so i dk now, so i picked my 3.5cvt up then and i have a buddy that does transmission work and transmission swaps for a living so when im ready for my turbo im just gonna have him do his thing
