I installed a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH head unit within a month of buying my Versa. (about 6 months ago) I've kept all the stock speakers, but I'm starting to itch for an upgrade. I wanted to see what you all would recommend that I install. Here's what I'm looking for:
Price - I don't want to totally break the bank, but I'm also not looking for some el cheapo speakers that won't last in the long run.
Sound Quality - I know any reasonably-priced aftermarket sound system will be an improvement on stock. I'm not going to be making my ears bleed, but at the same time, my head unit can support a lot of power and, every once in a while, I'm going to want to really crank it. I don't want a loss of sound quality when I decide to get a little loud.
Sub - If I could avoid getting a subwoofer all together, I would. However, I know that with 9 out of 10 aftermarket speakers, I'm losing most of the low end sound because they are made to be used alongside a woofer. I'm looking for a subwoofer that's good enough to keep the music sounding good. I don't need anything that's going to shake the paint off my car. Another huge factor with the sub is size. The Versa doesn't have a lot of trunk space to spare. I use this car not only as a commuter but for grocery store runs, vacations, and everything else. I can't afford to sacrifice a quarter of my trunk.
I would love to hear/see pics of what you all are working with, how much you like/dislike your current set-up, etc. Thanks!
