Okay yesterday i finally got my 4 speakers back from bose and the system rocks. If your sitting in the back with the bass and volume all the way up you cant hear yourself talk. The 4 inch speakers in the front are okay but i want something better. I have two 6 1/2 inch pioneer speakers sitting in my closet. The specs on them are 160watts and 4 ohm. My question is if i were to swap these speakers would the speaker fit in the casing of the old speakers with a little drilling? Also are the front amps the same as the back ones? and how much power do they put out? If i cant get my 6 1/2 inch ones to fit I have two 4" pioneers that hold 100 watts and 4ohm. Would this be better then the stock bose speakers?

Bass and volume turned all the way up.......sounds like a recipe to destroy the reconditioned Bose speakers.

I believe that with Bose systems, you have to stick with Bose only. That is what I've been lead to believe. If you can find other Bose speakers that are larger, then you can possibly upgrade. I haven't heard the Bose system in the Q45 yet, but my Legend had a Bose system and I still have all of my stock Bose peakers, amps and head unit. I was thinking that if I don't like the small 4" speakers in the front of the Q45, I would consider using the 6 1/2" that were in the Legend front doors. The rear speakers in both cars are 6 x 9 and I believe the head unit in the Q45 is made by Clarion which is superior to the Legend which is made by Alpine. Once my car gets here and I hear the sound I will be able to know what the better system is. Anyway, here are some links that may be of assistance to you and some others:

I dont drive around like that. Its mostly on 3/4 bass and 3/4 volume which still sounds sick. I thought i saw past posts that said they hooked up aftermarket nonbose speakers to their cars.
