im trying to wire up my z32 maf and the plug is driving me insane. none of the wires match up with the ones in the diagrams i have found. i really need some help on this, as i am stumped as hell.

first off, the colors of the wires are completely different. they also go to the wrong pins on the connector for even the 300zx maf in a z32 300zx! looking at the connector from the front with the 2 little bumps on top and 3 on the bottom, the colors of the wires are as follows: black, brown, gray with a yellow stripe (shielded), blue, orange with a black stripe, and the last one is some wierd beige/peach color.

could i have a z31 maf plug? it fits the z32 300zx maf fine. its from an australian market car if that makes any difference. there is a part number on the plug, its: 022 906 233 A. thanks!

Well one thing to consider is whether the diagrams are showing looking through the back or front of the connector.

if you can figure that out you'll be fine, since you can determine which wires need to go where by looking at where the keys are (2 on one side 3 on the other)

I am currently not at my house to help you to get that MAF wiring going...

you should check the MAF to see if the MAF is even working condition.. sometimes MAF can take a dump in any min.

that is why I hate MAF.

I drove my car with vpc with map sensor, and intercooler pipping popped off, but I can make it home with no problem at all, VS if it is MAF... you are going to stay where you are til you fix the pipping.

First of all, what the hell is pipping? I don't think my car has any of that! Yours must be awesome man! What did you pay for it? Where did you get it? Ok, I'm JK, but seriously, I think what you're talking about is piping. Hehehe.

Secondly, the ECU has a failsafe setting that will allow the car to drive w/o the MAFS working so that you're not stuck on the side of the road and can get home. But yes, VPC > MAFS.

ive not yet started the car up, its just painfully obvious that the plug I have is NOT what everyone else has. its not like i cant use the plug, as i know what wires to connect where, but i would really like to know what the crap i paid 15 bucks for...

and by the way, the ecu's failsafe setting does nothing when the piping comes off. its still measuring air but the engine isnt getting it. the worst is when the intake pipe comes off at the turbo. then the car really isnt going to move.

My car will drive, albeit not well, when the piping comes completely off. I've done it many times.

LOL! Thanks for the vote of confidence! They kept coming off because I got a shietty azz motor from Venus and the rings were shot. I had so much oil in the intercooler piping that couplers couldn't hold the piping off. Hence me being forced to pull my motor back out and rebuild it. I hate that company...
