For those of you that are going for the minitruck look, I find this video to be very very very inspirational. Albeit most of these trucks are not of nissan make, but all are smexy nevertheless. Enjoy!

You know about infamous nissan then I'm guessing. The best low datsuns and nissans are members there. One thing I'd like to do eventually is full multi-link rear. But I need to get some more welding experience under muh belt before I start trusting my life with it.

Yeah I lurk there every now and then, lots of great builds there. I know the feeling with welding, I'm fairly decent with mig/stick welders but I still just have a strange feeling in my gut when it comes to building something totally custom for a vehicle like that. Oh well, I'll get over it. My truck still has a long way to come with body work and paint anyway.

Okay, I watched the vid and it was cool for what it was, but can someone explain the point of these trucks? Like, I have my old Datsun as a toy hauler and I want it to be able to go places (ground clearance is good for this). In my mind a truck that can only go on the road and has a sliced up bed completely defeats the purpose of a truck. Can I get a little glimpse into the mind of a minitrucker? Why is this cool? (asked very sincerely)

It's an art form and a lifestyle. The trucks become contemporary art. Some are static displays while others aren't. I respect the talent to lay down a nice bead of weld but some of the trucks are too over the top for me. I like my trucks driven spiritedly. And I love the way it looks. I modded the mechanicals but I left the profile of the truck alone, it's beautiful in its OEM state. My heart goes out to every truck that is cut in half because it has a very low chance of completion. At the same time I am cheering for the builder to build something cool. Lots of trucks being cut up so eventually it will be near impossible to find a clean stock version making trucks like mine more sought after.

Still got to hand it to a person willing to go all the way.

Throughout the world its a lifestyle. We have some sick Mazdas over here and there used to be some nissans/datsuns also but 720s here are coming back for original show pieces so we concentrate on looks with functionality. But again there are those of us who like unusualness. 720s with RB engines, or tilt trays and folding fenders, or convertible 720s.

I have pipe dreams of taking the bed and cab off a 720 frame, build a multi link rear, drop the front, fit a GTR34 full drive line and just daily a GTR720.

People would see me and just think there goes a s*** lowrider, if you drive a skyline everyone and there mother wants to talk to you. My 720 doesn't bring the girls to the yard, so I'd figure it'd be pretty innocuous.

Yeah breadbox. My cars never attracted girls but had guys dribbling. 1969 Viva Vauxhall with shaved head and webber, Ford Cortina with RS internals and home cut gears for the gearbox, mitsubishi galant with Z20 8 plug - shaved head, webber, modified transmission and mild cam, nissan C32 laurel with RB20DET - 650 injectors, walbro 225 fuel pump and T6 turbo.

Im all about cutting up my truck. thats why i bought them. i dont have anything to carry and im not going to help you move. so lets clean up the body lines by loosing all the unneeded stuff and put it at a nice ground level and hit the local shows and cruise spots. Stock sucks so why not make it one of a kinda with some personallity? Just my thoughts on it. To each there own, i build my trucks the way i like them. You do the same. Happy building.
