Double the amount of cash you have or plan on doing a lot of work.

tHERE IS A GUY UP HERE THAT IS SELLING A TT jdm FOR 5K. IT WAS A 2 SEATER SLICKTOP.

I WAS GOING TO BUY IT BECAUSE AROUND HERE IT IS RARE TO FIND A 2 SEATER JDM AND EVEN MORE RARE TO SEE ONE THAT WAS A SLICKTOP.

iT HAD 90K ON THE ENGINE.

iT NEEDS: NEW EXHAUST, ALIGNMENT, TRIM AROUND WINDOWS, WHEELS, TIMING BELT, AND IT HAD BEEN SIDE SWIPED.

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE IT WAS ONLY 5K.

looked at a few tt's, now looking at a few vr4's.. idk its gonna be tough. either way ill have a twin turbo car by the end of the month. btw the vr4's im looking at are not the new gen.. there the 90-93's.. also looking at one black 3000GT thats a 95 but not a VR4.. i heard the swap is very simple though, simply pulling the motor and replacing it.. changing the clutch is all thats needed.

I was thinking for a while today. I want to keep my car for the next 10+ years of my l;ife. I'm 18, about to head off to pennstate next year. now if i keep this car till i have kids, i'll need a 4 seater. Would it be smarter if i just bought a 2+2, being itl be cheaper anyways sop i can definitely afford t, then when i get the cash TT swap it hen ill be all set...? Plus this way i can definitely get the color/manual i want. (Black on black with 5 speed manu)

When you get married and have kids just make sure your wife has a Civic and you can keep your 2 seater Z.

I wouldnt recommend buying any car that doesnt have turbochargers or a high displacement V8.

But i guess i'm a bit biased.

In my honest opinion, if you are looking for a daily driver for the next few years, a twin turbo is something you definitely don't won't, even just a N/A Z32 is something you won't want. Old sports cars usually don't make good daily drivers if you are tight on time and money.

If you plan on keeping the car that long it should be well paid for by whatever means you got the money, so just start putting a few bucks away here or there and get a minivan or civic.

Ummmm... why not a Camaro? They are cheap as hell, reliable, faster and with a change of cams you are looking at 400HP with 1-2k max. I wish cars were as cheap here in cali as they are in NJ. I mean you can get a 99 z28 for 5K. Lucky ***. Its cool to talk about GM cars in a Nissan fourm now since they are TyTe and working together now haha.

EDIT: 4 seater??? and the vert looks nice actually.EDIT AGAIN: Im compairing it to 3000Gt's not Z32's nothing touches the Z32's looks!

Hey check out the link i put up there. You can always get a RS and put any desired engine in there. I can say Chevy has the most versatility when it comes to engine swaps, since they have so many different engines available. Not the best but simple enough to know the cars aspects all around even if your a dumb azz with some$$$.

true very true.. my brother spun a bearing on his ls1.. so instead of replacing.. he upgraded LS2 baby.. (which is really just an ls1 with a bigger bore)

ANYBODY HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT MY NEW Z!?!?! LOLLLZZ

should i make a list of things wrong with it lol?

1) Clear corners are cracked (i have a spare set from my old z anyway)2) Fog lights are gone, stupid reflectors there3)Gray cloth interior..ew4) He just put in a "new factory clutch". it is very weird, it has a wholee lot of play and it either cathes or it doesnt, no middle ground. 5 the center panel for the head unit is gone, stolen. has a wood board holding in the head unit.6) climate control is the base base baseee edition. no automated climate control. just a switch for on off hot cold etc lol7) paint on front bumper is peeling. the painter matched the color perfectly, but didnt add the rubber adhesive material for it because its rubber or something8) no speakers in the car, all were stolen.9) subfan relay is missing. it blew so he took it out.. i had no idea if it was major, i assumed not and just took 50 bucks off my offering price for it.10) he deleted the rear wiper, without the delete kit. hence, there is a stub sticking out of the trunk lol11) no power seats =[ DID I MENTION ITS GRAY CLOTH INTERIOR?!?!12)factory chrome wheels are completely chipped away, needs to be redone13) The oil pressure gauge is stuck at 120 psi. the guy said and i quote "idk if its the gauge or if it just runs at a really high psi it was like that when i got it 4 years ago" LOL!!!!! yea dude it always runs at 120 psi.. definitely. and the turbos always run at 87 pounds of boost.

bottom line, its a twin turbo, and it looks decent on the outside. plus it runs like a beaut. it has a trust catback system and K+N filtercharger.

anybody know what the relay is/ if its a big deal/should i buy a new one before i drive it home from NY (3 hour drive for me to get it home)

Well this is my first time reading this whole thread, and it kept me on my toes to say the least. If I were you, I would attack the cheap stuff first (after the 120k kit). Make sure that you have an adequate boost controller, since I blew my turbos after only 350 miles of driving. You might want to attack the aesthetics...I would get a detailer kit from Eagle One or Meguiar's, and bring the paint back to it's prestige. Sounds like you got a really good deal, and it also seems that you have very realistic goals. You knew that when you bought a $5k TT, there would be a considerable amount of work needed, but you seem to have a great grasp of what needs to be done. My advice would be to make the car as bullet-proof as possible, so it doesn't cost you thousands in the future in order to put it back on the road.

thank youuuu

thats all thats wrong with iti try to stay on top of things

anyways so i pick it up on thursday.. 3 hours drive home. IM EXCITED!i didnt realize stock recirc valves are so loud, i hit high boost and shift i can still hear the depressurization (for all the ricers thats PSSSHHHH)

anyone know if replacing the stock base manual climate control with the automated one is simply a matter of buying the auto one and undoing the old and and puttin in the new one? anything else need to be purchased/done?
