whoa wait a second.. just remembered when i first saw the car. when it was first started it smoked white smoke for a while. i didnt even think twice, he revved it up after like 35 seconds, saying it hadnt been started in a few days or something, and that he just needed to clear the turbos. i checked the heat gauge and it was at halfway, all normal. this might not be a blown head gasket could it?! i hit 9psi when i pushed it, and the temp gauge didnt even flinch. the car did seem to POSSIBLY have a SLIGHT miss to it. i couldnt tell if it was just the exhaust though, i think it might have just been the catback burbling.

true very true.. my brother spun a bearing on his ls1.. so instead of replacing.. he upgraded LS2 baby.. (which is really just an ls1 with a bigger bore)

should i make a list of things wrong with it lol?

1) Clear corners are cracked (i have a spare set from my old z anyway)2) Fog lights are gone, stupid reflectors there3)Gray cloth interior..ew4) He just put in a "new factory clutch". it is very weird, it has a wholee lot of play and it either cathes or it doesnt, no middle ground. 5 the center panel for the head unit is gone, stolen. has a wood board holding in the head unit.6) climate control is the base base baseee edition. no automated climate control. just a switch for on off hot cold etc lol7) paint on front bumper is peeling. the painter matched the color perfectly, but didnt add the rubber adhesive material for it because its rubber or something8) no speakers in the car, all were stolen.9) subfan relay is missing. it blew so he took it out.. i had no idea if it was major, i assumed not and just took 50 bucks off my offering price for it.10) he deleted the rear wiper, without the delete kit. hence, there is a stub sticking out of the trunk lol11) no power seats =[ DID I MENTION ITS GRAY CLOTH INTERIOR?!?!12)factory chrome wheels are completely chipped away, needs to be redone13) The oil pressure gauge is stuck at 120 psi. the guy said and i quote "idk if its the gauge or if it just runs at a really high psi it was like that when i got it 4 years ago" LOL!!!!! yea dude it always runs at 120 psi.. definitely. and the turbos always run at 87 pounds of boost.

bottom line, its a twin turbo, and it looks decent on the outside. plus it runs like a beaut. it has a trust catback system and K+N filtercharger.

anybody know what the relay is/ if its a big deal/should i buy a new one before i drive it home from NY (3 hour drive for me to get it home)

Figured I'd turn this into my build thread for all my buddies keeping up with what I'm doing.. I'll start by talking about the problems/issues I've attacked and changed.

1. Replaced cracked turn signals with EuroSpec Clear Corners.

2. Replaced center console which was wooden board with factory dash console. Also Installed Alpine head unit sound system with Dual 12" subwoofers.

3. Replaced subfan relay

4. Redid some wiring with quality soldering and shrink wrap.

5. Installed Illumiglo Red Center Panel and JDM Tails.

6. K+N Intake installed.

6. Installed Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer.

7. Z1 ECU with boost jets.. can u say BOOOOOST ^^^^

8. NGK Iridium Plugs

9. Fairlady Z and Twin Turbo Emblems

10. Chrome Lower Radiator hose.

11. Installed 8000K HID's (tried 6000k's. too white and no blue!)

11. New Tires.. 900 bucksssss!!

12. Lots, and lots of miscellaneous work.

License Suspended for 90 days.. Time for some Z down time,. some money saved on gas, and some DIY jobs. My goals by late january:

Full 120k maintenanceFull LED interior panels, such as dash cluster and pillar pods.Get 4 new speakers. I currently have one in the rear passenger side and THATS IT!Paint cowls and misc engine components.Redone interior.. not sure what this means yet.. but i'd like to paint all the plastics black (currently charcoal..) and get some black leather seats.New Shift knob, boot, and e brake boot.Headlight mod (paint them either chrome of black or cherry red to color match.. using 99 replica inserts of course)Fix horn!!!!!! (been working on that for months to no avail!)Aiv hole drillEGR deletereplace shifter bushingstest pipe install with electronic cutouts welded in.. (it seems il be the first to do this as astonishing to me as it is)Plenum pull, coolant lines deleted and bypassed, PCV valve replacement, injector change.Paint plenum?

This is a rough list, if 50% of it gets done I'll be more then happy. It will be done in importance order... I have 3 months and will be asking for a lot of help with certain things I'm sure. Comments and opinions appreciated! Pics up soon!

Also one last thing.. I'd like to swap my wing (I'm not sure what kind of spoiler it is, can someone help me with that?) and get the wings west one that jerry has.. How much could I probably fetch for mine.. Its in great shape.. Thanks

just a thought, look at z33s they are ismply newer, quick ,awesome handling, and cheaper than u ever would imagine, they go for like 13 thousand sometimes, my friend bought an enthusiast with 18 inch rims and good sound system for 15000 completely stock with 44k miles on it. just a thought, but im 18 too and with my z as a dd breakin down i am probably selling it. I can buy one in another 6 years after school is over and im rich ;]lolbut hey just give it a loook

ps, i think my next car is an evo or a z33nows the time to get a nice reliable car cuz we have little bills and little responsibilities, and all of our money goes to the car.

i'd lose the spoiler you or the one jerry has... they do look similiar though it's not the most favorite spoiler.

anyhow, just personal preference.
