I searched and kinda found answers.

I am swapping from a 1989 KA24e to a 1995 KA24de

So i'd be going from obd1 to obd2. When i take the harness i need the fuse box too right?

I know i need motor, harness, and ecu.

What about powersteering lines and A/c lines?

Does the S14 cluster fit the s13 dash or am I just doing the tach swap?

the cluster will not fit. im not sure that the tach will either, but you can just get a dohc s13 cluster and it should work for you.

you will be essentially swapping over everything including fuse boxes.

ps lines will need to be re-routed since the pump is on the opposite side of the engine.

pretty sure its the same with a/c

I swapped a 96' KA into my 90 chassis but converted it to an S13 KA24DE first.

I went a bit different of a route than you did;

I had to swap an S13 lower intake plenum. the sensors/harness on the S14 lower plenum do not match up to the S13 engine harness. Since I am going to boost the motor I reused the S14 upper plenum (No butterflies! WOOHOO) You'll need to get a set of intake manifold gaskets for this. Felpro sells a set at Advance Auto Parts for less than $10 as I recall. It is IMPERATIVE that you take your time cleaning off the old gasket on all surfaces, being careful not to score them too much. I have a gasket remover which is basically an angled handle that a razor blade fits into. I cant stress this enough, take your time and do this part right. Your idle will be ****ty and your motor won't run right at all if you have a leak in the intake manifold.

I was able to reuse my SOHC throttle body from my car, it has 2 plugs, one on the housing of the TPS and one on a 3-wire 'cable' leading from the TPS. The engine harness connects to the plug on the 'cable'. I did nothing with/to the plug on the TPS itself.

Distributor, check, Ignition coil, check (used MSD blaster coil instead), Alternator, ECU, MAF, EXHAUST, check.

The only other thing I changed was the throttle cable and made custom coolant hoses to the heater-core. THe SOHC throttle cable is a bit shorter than the DOHC one is and the SOHC heater-core hoses don't match up.

Not sure of the legality of this in your area but I got rid of all of my emissions as well. Makes things 100x simpler. if you must keep them, be sure to replace all of your vacuum hoses while you have to motor out. It's a cheap bit of insurance against stuff running poorly when you get the motor started up. The fewer problems the better in case something isn't working right. Then you have that much less to diagnose.

Obviously your power steering is not going to mate up. I'm running just the bare S14 power steering pump since it's the tensioner for the water pump belt, I cut and created a loop between the lines on the steering rack so that no debris could get in there. It's really not so hard to steer, even while braking and I have J30 front brakes. Unless you are dead set on having power steering this is the route I would suggest, as people want way too much for S13b power steering racks in my opinion, especially for a luxury. Then again this car isn't really my daily driver.

You'll have to cut the brown plug off of your DOHC harness where it connects to the chassis (next to the main ECM SMJ,) and connect the white one from your SOHC harness. It's very simple to wire up, you simply match all of the wires to their like-colored counter parts. You'll have a few left over that don't match, you don't need them. it's that easy. I made a harness for mine since my DOHC harness was cut on the chassis side of the plug.

I may have another resource archived somewhere if you still have questions.

more pics for refrence (yes I cleaned the engine bay and hid the harness while I was at it)

well my motor was a 96...from what ive read up 95 can still hook up to the s13 DOHC harness NP

96+ its like installing a awhole S13 dohc intake on the s14 engine...

still though just changing a part here and there is easier to do since people want u to pay out the butt for a whole assembly...

as far as PS why do u need to change the rack... just the metallic lines that run infront of the engine crossmember and the P/S pump and hoses...trust me since ive done this...

if u dont wanna run P/S at all there is a spacer plate u can find on ebay thatgoes on the alternator connectionc...so u can cancel out the PS belt al together... and run ur alt and P/S all in the same belt...

if u do decide to run it though...do it the safe way and run the S13 p/s pump...dont stay with the S14...from wut ive herd its siezes up on u and ur plummout of luck buddy...
