The funny part is im actually using 56k and i figured you'd have made the pictures a decent size so everyone could help you, but apparently they are even too big for the most powerful dsl ever to load lol... i would help but cant see anything, hmm i kinda see stuff.. Just replace all of the vent systems in the car, or leave them out as nice weight reduction lol

I just checked my '90 after seeing those last pics. The motor is clearly visible from the drivers side. Just drop the trim panel from under the steering wheel and you should be able to get to the bolts. dash will apparently NOT have to come out!

how the hell did you find that right away lol ive stuck my head in there for ten minutes straight sneezing looking around everywhere and couldnt find the motor hes talking about... you put passenger side twice btw, but i can tell which is which cause i can see the actuator i circled earlyer which is somthing else

im gonna try pooping out the panel below the steering wheel and see if itl help, but you gotta remember, yours is a 13 and mine is a 14. I have airbags to worry about, you dont, plus the layout might be a little different

oh and pork chop, i dont think you got it right lol. i saw the whole assembly too, you can tell in my pictures, i just cant find the specific motor he is talking about

I FOUND IT I FOUND IT I FOUND IT!!!!

The whole time i was trying to find the motor you circled, i was looking through the center console area, but the pictures helped a lot to let me know where it was

for anyone who wants to help or is bored, but doesnt wanna rip apart your center console, you dont need to

just pop your head undeneath your steering column and look into that area (but shine a flashlight to that area first, from the center), and youl see it

yep, its gonna be a ***** to get to.. so i gotta find out how to get out the bottom part of that column... anybody know?

Yeah i found it already, i dont really wanna pull the seat though

Also for the trim under the steering column, theres the two screws closest to the pedals, i took those out.. so that side is loose, but its still on where it actually meets the steering column,

so im guessing either i have to take the bottom part OF the steering column out, or its just a pop in pop out deal? I dont wanna pull to hard if its not pop out, cause i dont wanna break anything, but i really dont wanna mess with the steering column cuz its getting really close to the air bag module thing, and since i dont really know what im doing here, i really dont want the airbag to go off in my face, or just period

so im gonna wait for sombodys advice here... anyone?

To the best of my knowledge, there are two nuts and two bolts that hold the column up..Two nuts toward the firewall. Two bolts under the column to the front...Cover has to come off to see them and you have to be Plasticman to get them off. Take out the seat! Your back will thank you for it! As for airbag ,someone on here said to disconnect the airbag fuse or better yet battery.. and wait an hour so it doesn't poof.

Ok it ended up just being a pop off affair, so thats good

as far as seeing down there, i had to put the seat and recline it all the way back, and lay down upside down to be able to see under there... i guess itl be way eaysyer to just take off the seat...

EDIT: k nvm i got the seat out, now theres just some ****ing wire attached from the floor to my seat... im guessing its just the weight sensor for the seatbelt alert thing?

it doesnt look like it can unplug, but it wouldnt make any sense not to.. im gonna go look at it again and update this once i get the seat out and look in that area

yeah..the wire attached to the seat is just a weight sensor. I left mine unplugged last time I took the seat out.

Yeah as soon as i turned a light on, the plug was right in my face, idk how i missed it but anyways....

so i can see the area fine now, turned the car on, and brought the HVAC unit near me, and touched different buttons. When i hit the button to make it go ONLY to the face (meaning the feet air ducts would close up), air was still blowing down there, and yeah.

So i can see the motor not moving at all, however, it DOES look a little differnet then yours. somthin seems to be disconnected? im uploading pics now

Ok so....

heres my resized pic of motomans unit (and dude... try to resize the pics you post lol, ill do it for you)

And heres mine

notifce how the thing circled appears to be different? Either somthings not connected and part of it fell down hanging off somthing, or its supposed to be like that when the door is in the closed position... anybody got anything? lol

heres another pic if it helps

and for poops in giggles... heres my little work area (anyone know how i can get rid of that fresh scratch i made? )

So anyone know anything or have any suggestions about that thing being disconnected or whatever? Also, yeah the motor doesnt do anything when i hit the buttons, so im guessing the motor is just dead?

Any ways i could give it a little push, or jump start it again?

Looks like im almost done (i hope) and i dont have to take out the dash or take it to a dealer!

Glad you finally got to it! I'm going to a salvage yard tomorrow and I'm going to grab a backup for mine before it goes out. I learned a lot from your mishaps:) .Good luck finding another motor for yours.

Wait so its a new motor that i need? Thats it for sure, cant be somthing stuck or somthing that just needs a little push? Or maybe the motor can be fine with a jump start?

Blend, or Mix door, which ever floats your boat. It's electric...

More than likely you'll need a motor. You could tap that one and maybe jar something loose but electrical motors have windings or bushings that wear out. It should make some kind of noise when you move the switch to different positions. A tap isn't going to keep it going .

Check with the courtesy nissan site that has been mentioned several times on here. Locals will probably be higher on price. That's if you're sure you want new. Is there a part # on the one you have? Let me know what is and I'll check it against anything I find tomorrow. I'm not even sure the parts still available new. You might check a local just to get part #and availability though. They will sell parts that they don't put in themselves. I've even had them print up FSM pages for me in the past.

this dude was telling me his passenger window motor stopped working, so he took it out, opend it up, and spun it around, and when he put it back in it was working again... so im thinking i might not NEED to replace it
