They do make short handles 1/4 ratchets...Is there room to get a long extension on from underneath? My mix door occasionally is doing the same thing..so I'll probably have to do this some time too. I'm holding off till I get a new a/c compressor though and mess with it all at once.....

im gonna have to buy myself a smaller ratchet i guess if i can find one for cheap....i used the long extention one, but the extention is too long and i cant get far enough down... if i had all that room then i woulda just used a normal screwdriver in the first place =(

good luck with yours, ill do a write up on how to fix this once its done

lmao i just pictured that in my head, like a little kidbut on the real, no, i didnt do that

back when it worked and i was driving it, somtimes i would have to switch back and fourth through the buttons to get it to blow to my face, so i guess it was only a matter of time till this happened

anyways, spooled240 gave me some good advice

im gona use a voltage meter and check to see if that plug going to the motor is getting any power, so i know if the problem is in the wiring or the motor itself (most likely the motor though, since it slowly started to crap out on me)

im still trying to take out the actuator and find the motor so i can look at it closer...

anyone got any creative ideas on how to get out that bottom screw?

thanks to those who are trying to help-sketch

ok true, but who cares, this is what nico is for!

id rather make a thread and have to wait 5 days to get a response after bumping 20 times, but then eventually fix it for $5, then have to pay $1,000 to have the dealer ship do it

ya use a 1/4" box end wrench and a Phillips bit. and i have that whole unit out of the car... i just cut up my s14 and have a bunch of stuff for them. so tomorrow ill take pics of it and show you whats up with it. also if you end up needing parts i can ship whatever you need.

those are the ones with the circle ends right?

pshh im pulling off an all nighter so im trying that right now!

thanks for the idea!

edit: yeah i dont have any box end wrenches that are small enough to hold the phillips head....

my best be its do just attached to a 1/4 socket and use a big *** allen key if i can dig one up, or buy one

untill then, i guess thats the only way this is possible

sorry it took me so long. so this is what your looking at and its not the right thing that rod opens another flap on the inside

this is what you need to mess with its on the driver side of the box. oh and your heater core is in the back of the box FYI

let me know if you have more questions or want more pics

area doesnt look familiar at all and i dont remember seeing any of that ****... so im guessing you pulled the whole thing out of the car?

right now the battery for the only flashlight in my house is dead, and its a wierd *** battery that i dont have another of... so i cant really see back there using my phone screen... any ideas? ill do my best to find that. Its not behind the air box, its next to it, right?

I really think that u should take the car to someone who knows what they are doing...No offense, but U seem to be clueless. Take the car to someone that can fix it.

THERE ISNT ANYONE AROUND THIS GUY THAT CAN GIVE HIM A HAND? IF NOT TAKE IT TO SOMEONE. COME ONE U GOTTA KNOW WHAT A HEATER CORE IS.....?!

Yeah, sorry, air conditioning isnt my area of knowledge lol. I just looked up heater core, i know what it is, i just didnt know what it was called

either way though, the problem im dealing with is only mechanics, so i should be fine without any knowledge on how the air temperatures are produced.

I just gotta find that motor he circled, test the voltage to see if its even getting any power, then if it is, open up the motor and see what i can figure out, which at that point ill probably have to ask my dad for advice

but that aside, i ended up using this bright *** small lamp thing that i plugged in to an extention cord to see, and i scan see fine (if not better) than with that flashlight, but i looked all around the left, and i cant find that motor you circled. It doesnt look like theres much on the bottom left corner of that area anyways

to anybody else reading that might be able to help, heres a smaller picture of what he circled so you have a clue wtf your looking at maybe

anybody know where the fck this thing is?

That is exactly where it is. passenger (right) side of the box. might have to pull the dash. good luck with that.

yes this was out of the car. and the pic with green is on the left of all the pics you took of it. and the heater core is what makes your heater hot and sometimes goes out and leaks antifreeze into your car. so i thought i would let you know where it was at just in case that ever happened.

yeah this **** is impossible to find, and i reallllly dont wanna take out the ash if theres any other way around that.

I dont wanna have to take off the dash though, cuz i dont trust myself with the airbags being there and everything, so i guess im better off paying the dealer to do this, but then i guess that means ill be paying upwards of $1,000?

this is gayyyyy
