So its pretty agreed upon that Stillen has the quietest catback?

From all that Ive read, that seems to be the direction everybody is leaning towards.

More and more Im feenin for an exhaust set up.

I plan on dynamat-ing the inside of my coupe....but I just realized today, Im always gonna have road noise.

I dont want a system that drones....I want a system that pulls the most HP, and also I dont want something that gets a lot louder over time.

So is it super noticeable inside the cabin?

Thanks

From the clips the Nismo system sounds great as well.

One Nismo axelback with the Y pipe sounded real good.

But since I love in an area mostly populated with trucks and v-8's....I dont know how a v-6 would sound accelerating and just cruising down the road.

I know these are all subjective questions....so please bare with me.

the Stillen exhaust is the quietest of them all. The Nismo is a cat-back system and is noticeably louder than the Stillen exhaust. If you want a little more sound to go with the v8's and trucks where you live, go with the Nismo (if those are your only two options).

Well if you're interested in a Stillen Cat-Back system I have mine for sale. It only has 1,700 miles on it. I have the reciept for it from Sillen when I got it installed. I'm letting it go for $650 Shipped in the US. It's running for $685 from Stillen plus tax and shipping I'm sure. Email me if you're interested dude.

I'm getting some work done to my car at Speed Force Racing. With the Tune and mods I'm doing to the car it requires a 3 inch exhaust. So Tim @ SFR is going to build me a custom exhaust to accomodate the setup he is doing.

I love good sounding exhausts. My last exhaust system growled like no other.Big block chevy SS exhausts with X pipes??? They rock.

But on my car, realistically as its been stated before....its a daily driver. I want something that will sound good and deep, but moderate. But also I want some good engineering behind it to prove some HP claims.

Its somewhat rainy here, and I just took the AC out for a spin through some puddles to see if I could manage to get any water in the engine bay where the ram air set up would go.

After popping my hood..... there was nothing. Not a drop.

But Im not convinced. This is something Im gonna observe the next couple of months of rain season. I know they make pre-filters and all....but Ive still read horror stories of hydro lock.Of course I wanna have the confidence of being able to drive at virtually any speed (well thats not safe, but you know what Im saying) in any rainstorm...and KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that my car isn't, by any chance, gonna get water in the engine.

we have SRI, not CAI. your chances of hydro locking with a SRI is probably like, .1% chance, if even. Even with a CAI, you would pretty much have to drive through a lake for it to hydro lock.

lol, drive ANY speed in a rainstorm? Have fun hydroplaning out of control.

And on topic: I'm looking at getting the Nismo. It's not quiet like the Tannabe is and it's not insanely loud like the Borla. Kind of an in between import sound I suppose.

which produces the most horsepower?

how can the racingline y pipe claim 10hp, while the whole cat back nismo claims like 7?

what is stillen claiming?

Any dyno's ran?

What's an SRI? So I hooked up my weapon r's ram it hoseto that plastic thing coming into the bay from behind the grill.Any chance of sucking water from that driving in the rain?

In there you will see an "engine-drivetrain-tuning section" the "The Altima Tuning Forum is the place to discuss Altima performance modifications and mechanical repair."

I will move this there after you see this.

One thing is for sure, You cannot go wrong with stillen. You will be happy regardless. I personally went with the nismo because i preferred a more aggressive sound, but Stillen is a quality product and you will be happy.

Getting Ricky's would be a smart move in my opinion. If I did not have my nismo I would have had my address sent to Ricky

Thanks Richard. Mine only has 1,700 miles and I LOVE IT. Only reason I have to sell it is because I have to use a 3 inch Cat-Back now with the new mods. Otherwise that sucker would be on my car forever.

im not too sure as to why either.if that is the case....(noob question) wouldnt getting a racingline y pipe and a tanabe axleback be a good combination?i remember reading that the tanabe had the best sounding exhuast on our cars.

Of all of the exhast set ups that I have heard on our cars, Stillen is the quietest. I just got it 3 weeks ago and could not be happier.
