Welcome to NICO!!

I went with the Manuel and love it.

I guess it depends what /where /how much driving you do? For me...automoatic only comes in handy when you ar in traffic. Are you looking at the Coupe or Sedan?

BTW..the G is easily comparable to the Z in power..it's just more classy!

The clutch on the 6MT is very finicky. But, it gives you the feeling of being part of the car. The auto kind-of looses that feeling, but makes up for it when you have to do stop and go...on a hill (nobody likes that with a clutch!).

The other thing to remember is that the 6MT usually came with premium packages with lots of extras- compared to the auto that you had to order it with those same features. It could be hard to find an auto with baer brakes (03-04) for example.

For the most part, it comes down to your preference, they are both still sweet and sexy G35's!

I have an automatic and it performs fine. I libe in Dallas with alot of stop and go traffic and shifting while steering and holding my Starbucks wasn't going to work. Ha! So I went with the auto. It has plenty of power.

If you feel the need to wax someone then shift to the manual mode and it is even better. You need to practice shifting in manual mode though to time the shifts just right for maximum performance but as an everyday driver I prefer auto's. For a second car or weekend driver then I would absolutely get a stick but thats just me.

I really wanted the 6 speed manual, but just could not find one in the color I wanted. In Nashville, it seems like they only have red G35's coupe with the 6 speed. The Diamond Graphite with black leather was my favorite color combo, just could not find it with the manual. I would have kept my Maxima if it only had a manual trany.

After test driving a few g's and even a 350z with the 6 speed....I just broke down and bought a 04 coupe with the auto. I just miss roasting the tires while I am changing gears....my 86 300zx was a 5 speed manual.

If anyone can get the tires to chirp with the auto changing gears from 1st to 2nd...let me know!!!

Just keep in mind your driving style and how much traffic you have to deal with....Respect the South Cal g35s with the manual!!!

well i know the new bmw 335ci are like a .5 of a second off from manul to auto and the same thing with the new gti, are the g's the same way or do u feel segnificant lag in power? if so is there anyway to shorten the lag time between gears?

I have the auto, and the throttle response is great,so I mean yeah someone in a manual will be slightly faster. Since they have a manual, but not buy all that much. Secondly I have to cruise up and down 295 each day,and eacy way I go I hit traffic, and I had a mt on my last car and it sucked.
