So i hit 95.2% afl on safc. Time for a new MAFS

i hit this on 9 psi, full 3" exhaust, fmic, cone filter, walbro.

what would you guys suggest? I know there are z32, q45, rb25, etc

Personally dont think i will ever make about 400rwhp so what is a good mafs up to 400rwhp.

Everyone goes z32 but im cheap and if a q45 is good enough for me why waste money?

could you guys please post up :

-any wiring diagrams for z32, q45 etc

-aswell as in and out settings on safc.

anyone got any idea how much power i should be making right now

thx boys

Q45 is a sewer pipe, I would think that to be les than accurate at lower air flows on a 1.8 liter engine but that is just me thinking out loud.

I agree on the Q45 maf.....it's bigger and flows less power

Z32 MAF is the only one good for over 300hp (other than the Q45, which I have heard is a tuning nightmare).

Someone on here had trouble getting the CA to idle with the Q45 MAFS, and I think that was with a standalone. It's wwaaayyy too big. What about one from a Maxima or something? Aren't they only good to like 300hp?

The N60 is supposedly the same as the RB20 MAF, is found on all VQ30DE maximas.

It is supposed to handle up to 310 HP, from what I have read.

I have one I can sell you right now, if you want.

I got 220whp with the stock maf, the car ran fine even with the maf maxing out at 6000rpm, you should check a/f ratios to be sure though.Going by my dyno plot 95% would equate to around 180whp

hell, i have trouble getting my car to idle with just a z32 maf. car wont run unless you give it gas until the ecu switches out of the cold start mode. and im tuning it with an safc! just something for you to think about.

by the way, my car is so un-tuned its not even funny...

The Z32 is good for 480HP, The maxima, R32, R33 maf is good for 315hp

I think if you hit the max on your maf, you have a good chance that you might damage your engine.

Tim, if you car doesn't ideal good with the Z32 maf, it is because you have a bad tuned ecu, as you said you have a very bad tuned car, get it tuned right and it will make a huge difference, not only at idle but also drivability.

Good luck,

Hmm, this is very weird, since i'm running 13 pound, full 3 inch, walbro, injectors, pod filter fmic.. and tuning with an safc 1.. have never had any trouble with getting air in..

Sort of an off topic question, is the SOHC KA maf considered an upgrade? or a replacement?

hmm, i have the same problem with the stock MAF nearly maxing out at 9psi on my HKS turbo. i don't rev past 6K anymore and i'm ok, but i really have to put in my Q45 maf.

the only problem is as u guys have said, it's difficult to get to idle, and secondly, i didn't get the harness. does anyone know if there's a KA plug similar to the Q45? i know someone who has extra KA wiring harnesses.

i need a plug that's for 3 flat pins. [ - - - ]

I'm not sure what my safc settings should be at.I have a s15 t28 turbo, N60 MAFS , stock injectors, 2.5" catback, ca16de jwt programmed ecu (rafi did the programming and wiring for me)Right now i have it at 7-In, 7-Out. Sensor Cal In-1 Out-1

Car runs perfectly right now.

Right now im set at 7psi, at 7500rpm on tach (says 6500 on safc tho) my airflow went upto about 45%. Its about 11C outside right now.
