Injen Website wrote:16. Can I use cleaning agents other than the Injen cleaner and oil?
Injen FAQ wrote:16. We highly recommend that you only use Injen Technology oil and cleaner. Injen Technology air filter is a specific mineral oil blended with special polymers to form a very efficient tack barrier. Standard petroleum products such as transmission fluid and motor oil will soften and destroy the filter bonding agents and sealed edges. Injen cleaner is a non-detergent degreaser. Solvents, gasoline and various house hold chemicals will harden the rubber seals causing the filter to distort and may affect the ability of cotton fibers to function properly. A mild detergent can be used in an emergency situation, but care should be taken to fully rinse and remove the soap. Removing soap from the filter can be extremely difficult or time consuming. Always ensure the filter is completely dry before re-oiling.
Yeah I would like to know if the K&N Cleaning kit will work too as I have one right now.johnny_d wrote:how much do K&N cleaning kit cost? anyone else confirm this is fine? thnx
Absolutely.. actually any oiling kit will work.. some use red, blue, etc. The oil color will determine your filter color. You could hit up AFE or I'm sure JWT has blue if that suits your fancy..Nissan 4 LIFE wrote:Yeah I would like to know if the K&N Cleaning kit will work too as I have one right now.
Thanks Josh and I will call Dean tomorrow to see if you guys have any in stock...but the K&N WILL work so I can just use that and I really don't care about the red color of the filter...eventually I will buy a Blue prefilter to cover my intake anyways for shows. I appreciate the help.Josh@Stillen wrote:

We can get the Injen's if you'd like. The problem with cost sometimes can be with the shipping in of a product, and then back out. We eat the cost if it's a bigger item, but it can be a pain on the cheap stuff unless we package it in with another order. We may have some in stock, I'd have to check, but not a problem, especially for pickup if it helps..
You can clean it with water.. but you MUST reapply oil to the filter to keep it's filtering capabilities..bunda4th wrote:Yup, K&N filter cleaner is what I used for my previous car. You can even clean it with water just turn on the shower in your bathroom and rinse away and let it sit to dry before putting it back into the car.
Arrgh.. I totally screwed you.. the 2.5L and 3.5L are different by just a touch.b88dragon wrote:Out of topic, well i think it is anyways, but josh i just received my injen filter, but when i went to replace it, the filter i received from you guys is much bigger than the one i have now in my car. Does the size matter? just wondering before i actually replace my filter. My car is 07 altima sedan 2.5s cvt, if that matters. Thanks for the help
Do all filters need to be oiled? or can some just be cleaned?(fujita?)Josh@Stillen wrote:

A non-oiled filter is NOT something you want to use.. don't clean it if you don't have a recharge kit ready to go..
No.. each mfg can use differing forms of filter technology.LongBeachCoupe wrote:

yeah bruh, size matters... any chick that tells you different is lying to your face!!! lolb88dragon wrote: Does the size matter?
I usually take a look at it every other time I get my oil changed. It depends on your climate and driving habits though.RaiderKID wrote:how often do you clean it... thanks
