Wondering what, if anyone, runs for snow tires on their Gen 5 i30s/altimas/maximas/etc. I have an 01 i30T with 215/55/16's and am in dire need of new tires. Since i have no T/C on this thing, I am going to fire up some snow tires to get me through the winter, then order a new set of summer tires and rims this spring.

I am thinking of getting either the same size as is on there now, or perhaps going to a 205, but not completely sure if it will fit on the stock rim. Anyone know if I can?

I had a set of Firestone Winterforce's on my last car...they were OK but not that great on slick conditions. Granted they are about the cheapest set you can buy and overall they performed well, but I am thinking of either the General Altimax or the Bridgestone Blizzak ws70's (or 60's depending on what size I go with). The Altimax does much better on icy conditions than the Firestones, and the Blizzaks are probably the premiere winter tire, but they are a bit more costly...which is a big factor for me.

I greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I've driven on the Blizzaks and they were ok. I went with the Perilli sottozero and they are amazing. I have a rwd G and I pass people all the time in the chicago blizzard we had.
