So i went in for a pre-inspection smog today. My co2% was at 10.80 at idle and 12.50 at 2500 rpm. Hc came in at 394 at idle and 156 at 2500 rpm. co% came in at 1.39. So my question is what is next? The guy said i probably need new cats and a tune up. Anything you guys can suggest?

Check your timing and lower it to 13 btdc. That seems to help a lot of people. also creating a small vacuum leak also seemed to help. Do one of the hoses in the rear so it goes to the back of the engine so they do not hear or see it.

Bringing this back up as a part of my believed issue is something to do with the EGR, has anyone ever passed california smog without an EGR?
