I just bought a 2011 Rogue SL with 38k miles. I've had it for less than a week. Everything is fine with it, except when I attempt to reverse up my slightly-inclined driveway. It really struggles to make it. RPMs rev but the car backs up like its in sand. I just figured out that this mainly happens when the car is cold/hasn't been driven in a while. After I drive it for a considerable distance it backs up the driveway just fine.
Anyone have experience with this? Any solutions? I am not sure if it is CVT related or what. But I have done extensive research and have come up with 1,000 different answers. The car is under warranty still (powertrain and upgraded warranty). I am planning on bringing it back to the dealership as soon as I have the time. But I am expecting them to tell me "nothing is wrong" or "that's just how it is." I don't really trust the guys at this specific dealership.
I was also wondering if this might be a simple fix of replacing trans fluid (even though this should have been done recently, but again, I don't trust this dealership), or making sure they added the correct trans fluid for CVTs?
Any help or advice would be great. Thanks!
