I have a 1993 se fastback that is incredibly slow. 0-60 times are around 12 seconds and it barely breaks 100 under WOT. The engine runs smooth, idles fine and there are no noticable sounds or vibrations at all. I changed the wires, plugs, fuel and air filters, distributor cap and rotor, tried fuel injector cleaner and all the other small stuff. I don't know what else to do. I was thinking maybe something with the fuel system or a clogged cat? I was also told that it could be the MAFS but I really don't know. The car has about 150,000 on it and is all stock. It seems to have more power at low rpm's than it does at high rpm's. It barely redlines in first gear. That is all I know. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

try checking you timing, your timing could be off the 15* btdc mark and it would run fine, just have absolutely no power. Had a friend with a prelude vtec (4th gen). Drove it before we put a new distributor in and the timing was on, it was fast, drove it after with messed up timing, ran fine, just was very very sluggish. So, check your timing.

yeah i agree about the timing, might be the fuel filter too, have you tried feul system cleaner, maybe its the injectors. im having the same problem but it sputters, almost sounds like its missing at idle and well through the gears

I am going to check the timing soon. I have changed the fuel filter and done all the cleaning addants and everything along those lines. The tires and brakes are new, so it won't be that, only like 2 months old. Thanks for the help, where can I pick up a timing light? For how much?

you can pick up a timing light at probably any autoparts stor for 25-35 dollars, but if its a one time use deal you should see if you can rent one
