Currently looking over my new 300zx, checking for vacuum leaks and other basic stuff. I have a slight high idle at about 850rpm, i had my old 300zx at 750 which is what it should be at if im not wrong.
Anyway, was pushing some buttons after cleaning out the interior and noticed my idle would drop about 100rpm when i hit the defroster for rear/mirrors. This made me confused..
AC on or off makes no bigger difference, just the defroster.
Did not check with NDS of actual rpm drop, but it dropped down to what im used to hearing. Also worth mentioning is that the timing is advanced, seems to be set to 16-17 BTDC.
Figured i would fix the idle before setting my timing.
Anyone want to chime in a word or two, im thinking my idle air solenoid might be going? I have a extra in my old zed that seemed to work, i could just swap that one in.
I do not want to just jump to the idle screw to and potentially hide a problem.
