Is your crushing facility on site? or do the cars get moved to the crusher? If they do get moved... umm ... yeah can I get a date and a route and some times. I mean like seriously who's gonna miss one car? J/k but seriously do they crush the car in it's entirety? Because if not couldn't you just ask your boss if you can have some of the parts and send the shell to the crusher? Or just pay the crusher dude off... *Disclaimer* In no way shape or form do I condone any sort of illegal activities or participate in any illegal activites. *End Disclaimer*

It seems like your facility could made massive amounts of cash by parting the cars out. I mean if I was your boss then I'd hire a mechanic just to part cars out like that and sell what was sellable to the JDM fiends in this country. Regardless crushed cars make me sad Or just procure a GTR and stuff it in a barn for twenty more years and you can bust it out as a historic car and drive it on the streets. Thats what I was thinking of doing with an R32 in a few years.

It's so sad to see works of art getting treated like that. That isn't your average R34 either. It hurts to looks at those pics.

Junkyards around where I live are a bit crooked. Unless someone from your job is there to watch them crush it . You may just be able to buy the cars of them before there crushed. Just an idea. It seems like a waste of money though. A crushed cars only worth a few hundred in scrap whereas a whole car is worth tens of thousands.

I vote that ya'll part them out... The car is ''illegal'' as a whole car, not in pieces.

QFT, so what happens next? Do the owners get a notice or something? How does this illegal import/export business go down?

Come to canada! You can buy a r32 as easily as a 240sx.

its really ****ing sad that that has to happen. They should give the owner and option to keep it as a show car or a track car, or atleast let him part it out.

like sombody said, its ilegal as a whole car, not in pieces

side note: wingless s15's look ****ING AMAZING

did you tow the GTR like that?2 wheels up and 2 down?

DOH
This is the first thing that popped out at me. That's AWD drive right? Towing it like that probably destroyed the transfer case. LOL

Damn 100% exactly right. They pose way f*cking more danger than some few cars imported. They are not licensed, schooled, and legal to work here, but there's millions of them. F*ck the laws and the DOT and all other idiots. It's the stupid USDM - if they allowed all the good and nice cars here, forget all the crap (ford, mercury, GM, Chrysler etc etc.). I was just thinking the same thing dude.

No. The car rolls in neutral, even if it's AWD, doesn't it? If it was an automatic, then different story.

If you tow an AWD car with two wheels spinning and two strapped stationary you will destroy the center differential or transfer case. Subarus that are towed with only two wheels of the ground are toast after a few miles.

This is just another example of the government needing to get out of our lives. Big ****ing government breads these issues. Al Gore and liberals are to blame. Ron Paul wouldn't restrict what cars come into the country. Let the market forces decide. What is a shame is that these fools could have removed the power train from the chassis and been legit. Who tries to sneak a whole drivable car through customs?

I'm an attorney, just happened to be a member of the OK Bar Assoc., I'll volunteer even though it will be a trek from the UK! It would be worth it to save those beauties!

No way, I'd ever move back to the USA without my GTR!!! It makes me sick to know that the feds WILL crush these cars if given the chance. How dare the government - telling us which cars aren't good for us when they are a damn site safer and better made than any American made car I've ever owned or driven.

Yeah I've got an Evo. It's one of the first things you learn about the car. Don't let some jackass from AAA tow it behind his pickup truck. It's a good thing to know just in case...
