I recently picked up an 04 I35 in excellent shape, except for many dings in the side moldings on the doors. As these strips have absorbed the brunt of many doors in parking lots, I am thinking of repainting them. It appears a better job could be done if the were removed, but I am not sure if they are on the doors with adhesive or studs. Anybody shine a light on this ? Also, how to remove the interior door panels (if they are on with studs), as I don't see any fasteners. I don't think I'd risk removing them, if they're on with adhesive.

Both clips and tape. See illustration 17 on page BT-47 http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/i35/2004_I35/bt.pdf
