I noticed just about everyone here took those almost square sticker things off the side of their cars (in front of the back wheels)

What is the point of them, and is there a proper way to remove them without damaging the car?

Yeah peel them off and get rock chips and then you'd wish you left well enough alone and left them on

Is this from experience? My stickers are yellowing... like all other stock stickers eventually will, but if rock chips are an issue, maybe I'll find some clear 3M vinyl that guarantees no yellowing to replace the factory ones

not sure of the problems you are having but my stickers are not yellowing whatsoever.
