I would like to know if there is a side marker light kit for the versa. I know the tiidas have side marker lights but my versa does not. Has anyone put side marker lights on their versa?

buy universals, measure twice and make sure they are exactly where you want them on both sides, drill holes, wire to stock signal lights or eliminate stocks(dont suggest this) and extend wires into new side makers, pretty easy since there are hundreds of universal side marker lights, its the cutting a hole in your new fender in the perfec spots(or else it will look weird from the front) that makes it difficult...good luck ive got a set but am waiting atleast another year befor i hack into my new fenders...

I wouldn't do it. It's not worth the trouble. But, if you're going to do it... measure and cover the area you'll be drilling with painters tape to protect the surrounding paint. Paint or touch-up exposed metal to prevent rust. Wire the markers with your blinkers for best functionality. Useless if you wire them to your parking lights. Using them as blinkers, you help others spot you when you change lanes when you are next to or near them. Most European cars have their markers wired up this way. It should be a US DOT standard but the American government is slow and dumb.

You can get universal markers from ebay, but most of them are low in quality. Check out rallylights.com for ones made by Hella (if they still sell them, it's been a while since I checked last).

Keep in mind that any wire extensions you add will increase resistance in the blinker circuit, which may affect the blink speed.

I'm extremely glad it's not USDOT standard. I HATE side marker lights. I mean no offense to anyone who has a different opinion, but I think they look terrible. The day I buy a car with side repeaters will be the same day I buy a bucket of bondo and some touch-up paint.

They don't add anything of value to average passenger cars safety-wise. Yeah, they're nice on semis and busses, but with USDOT requirements on side reflectors and tail/headlight signal placement, you're never out of view of the factory corner flashers anyway. There's no reason to mandate extraneous mirror or fender lights on passenger cars.
