Should I purchase this car

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Ok it is about 5 hours to drive there from my house. The other car I was going to buy was sold over the weekend but I have found another one. But the guy says the a/c compressor has been disabled? Is that common to get some extra power and is it easy to fix?

Well I do not know the Car Dealer just said "Disabled" It is a 2002 Spec-V, I am trying to get him to take it to the Nissan dealer up there before I come and have them inspect it and fix it first.

I figure that he only disconnected the power to the compressor, that should be easy, by the way nice car , I had an 04 spec v and it was a vicious little motherf*cker.

Well I think I will let the Nissan dealership tell me how it looks. It is black with the lava seats inside and the gunmetal rims, it is pretty nice. And it has 90,000 miles but I am getting it for $5,750.

Beware of the high mileage, the QR25 from then is known as an oil-burner and timing chain snapper.

Ouch, how bad of an oil burner and when should i replace the chain, 100,000? And i would hope the nissan dealer would pick up on how crappy the chain looked.

Chains are maintenance free. Belts are done every 60K to 100K, depending on the car. The QR25 had a recall from '02-'06 for oil consumption. I am just saying with 90K miles, you might want to consider the car if you plan on buying a new engine and having it built for the car. The QR is easy as hell to take out of the Spec V, I can do it in under 3 hours. The problem is the whole front cradle has to come down with the transaxle and it has to be split apart on the ground.

I am buying the car because it is a 4 door and a good fun car that is not a slow car like a civic, and I will def not be rebuilding the engine now, but maybe a year down the road I would. How much would it cost to do a pretty strong rebuild.

Ok the guy is fixing the ac and I will probably be up there around Thursday. What should I plan to spend and do to do a good rebuild of the engine, so it may last me another 100,000 miles, and the costs. I do not want to swap it, but I will def. want to give it more horsepower, I do not have that much money to blow.

And here is the link to the car: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...t=300
