If you know for sure who dented your car, then yes file a claim. People need to be held accountable for their actions even if it was an "accident".

If your insurence will go up if you file a claim, perhaps get a qoute from a "dint removal" shop?

If it will cost less to pull the dint out, get the person at fault to cover the cost.. otherwise

You don't file a claim with your insurance, you file it with the others guys. Your company never needs to know anything, unless you were at fault.

Unless you are in Florida and it's a "No Fault State". Then you have more headaches to deal with.

if the person doesnt want to fix your car. pay for it out of your own pocket and go to small claims court. that way insurrance wont go up and you will still get paid.

FWIW - My wife witnessed a car back into her friends car door and crush it! She took down the car license number because the driver just pulled forward and left (hit and run). She let her friend know and guess what her Insurance Company did? They contacted the owner of the vehicle. He denied hitting the car - the Insurance Company decided (even with a witness) it would cost more to sue then to just fix it under her polciy. And we wonder why our Insurance rates are so high!
