Fail - the install should have been really easy but...

that is a side shot.

This is the first step in the install, to remove this plastic piece off of a pivot ball.

How the heck do you get this part off????

I called joe and he said to pry it with a screw driver. My pops was afraid we were going to break it so we called off the install to do further research.

lol email sent with more pics. it is tight but literally will "pop" off. It is purely a tension fit.

Place the screwdriver on the same angle as your hand is on in the pic ( from the side) no t from the front

"roll it off from the side" no the front

it does pry of, all I'm saying is to try from the side where your hand is in the pic. Pry up from where your thumb is, well up and toward the engine. Right not you have the screw driver coming in from the front of the car, I told your dad on the phone to approach it from the side.

by coming at it from the front of the car, the cable itself is applying more resistance to your efforts

edit, I'm guessing it maybe cold in PA, perhaps put a hair dryer on the part to warm the area and make the plastic a little more forgiving. There is no other way to remove it other than to pry it off. Nissan will do the same thing when they replace your clutch etc.

As you know he was just worried about breaking it. When he wasnt looking i was prying the crap out of it from all angles.

After he does more research we should be ok to try it again.

I need my car for football tomorrow so the next attempt will be monday after work.

Interesting, i will have to show this to him.

Hmm a hair dryer might work. I think we are having a warm spell about 43 degrees.

retail is going to be $129. have not figured out GB/pre-order pricing just yet. Production will start likely first week of January and be ready 3-4 weeks thereafter

Joe, I sent you an email regarding the shifter about a week ago. Can you confirm whether you got the message, and don't need any more prototypers, or if you did not get my message at all. Thanks.

Ok short shifter kit received and installed!!

The difference in throw is Huge! Now my shifts are ridiculously short.

install is super easy too! ftw! I do sugest people invest in heavier shift knobs to compensate for the shorter throws, with my heavier shift knob its great!!

I'll put more hand on impression later guys when I get to drive it more, now it's cold outside and I didn't let the car warm up at all so these arn't final impressions, but it's look great!

Just got the short throw installed. Nice design, simple to install. No more long throws for me. I recomend it. The factory throws are rediculous.

wow you guys got them installed quickly.

I think the best reduction in throw is from 2nd to 3rd.

This part does come off, its awkward but it does come off.

This pin is hard to get out. As seen in the pic when there is a little gap you can fit a screw driver in there and push it out.

Shift cable removed.

Bottom of oem braket

Ball joint of shift cable.

When i realized what the clutch cable bracket was used for i was totally amazed. This part changed the angle of the shift cable.

Reinstallation - Clutch cable braket goes in backwards.

for the record there are more parts to the kit than just the little bracket shown LOL. I think Danny was too anxious to go for a drive he forgot to post a pic of the actual STS unit.
