Just purchased a 93 slick back from San diego. Drove it 2500 miles to it's no home without any issue. 25mpg at 80, used no oil. Most comfortable car I've owned. I digress. The linkage is a bit sloppy with 122k miles. Should I just replace the bronze bushings or get a short shift kit and if so, which one. The car is 100% bone stock so I don't want to get too cute with it.

I have a couple stock modified short shifters remaining for sale. Reduces throws by 50%, comes with new custom bushings. Bushings incorporate brass inserts within a needle bearing. Send me an email if intertested; they are $75 plus actual shipping price.

Peter.

Couple things to look at;

Bronze bushings will make a difference

Other thing is the shifter bracket, this could have broke or is close to it. Both are an easy fix.

Short shift kits can either work good or cause a grinding issue due to age of the trans. Some do not like the shorter throw, others do not mind it.
