I wonder if driving Rogue semi-manually is the same as driving manually another car. Could you please give me a quick lesson how to drive Rogue with the shifter. It would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, when we change shift, can we still press on accelerator pedal or we should release it ?

If you shift the CVT w/ the sequential shifter, you basically have 6 locked gear ratios.

I'm not really sure what you are asking though.

It is not like a real manual in that there is no clutch to use. SO if you are asking if you could drive the Rogue in manual mode then get in a true manual and easily make the switch...no you could not. On the other hand if you currently drive a real manual and hop in the Rogue, you will easily know what to do w/ the paddle shifters.

Basically for a gear up, smack the + (right hand side) for a gear down spack the - (left hand side).

Personally I drove sports cars with manual shifts only for every car I owned until last year. I LOVE to drive a fun manual shift car. I don't use the manual mode in the Rogue except for the odd hill or passing zone, there is just not a reason.

As for your question about pressing the gas while shifting, because the shift in a CVT involves no clutch, it should be fine to use gas during the shifts. The Rogue in automatic mode is "continuously" shifting or variable anyway.

I'm planning on using the shifters for passing, hill climbing, going in and out of turns, and just for fun My current car is a manual shift and I love it.
