Starting today, I have had problems putting my 91 into first gear and 3rd gear is also tough. All the other gears function fine. what would cause this problem? I dont know if the weather could be a factor in this as it is really freakin cold up here right now, its around 10 degrees(f)

Thats part of it. Also change your gear oil (if you haven't recently), it should help slightly. Is it still hard to shift once the car is all warmed up and running?

mine acted like that when the clutch master/slave went out, but it was in all gears. Now my transmission is f*****, but that's another story.....

1st is always kinda hard it seems sometimes, but 3rd? transmission related?

I have the same problem too, im guessing it's my throwout bearing, might be worn out, because when I stay in traffic, 1st always seems to get stuck....even if I am pushing down on the clutch...I have to take it out of gear with more effort, then there is a weird thump and its out of gear...could my throwout bearing be the problem?
