Hey guys,

I own a 2007 g35x with about 60k miles. There are some very sharp and early shifts occuring in between 3rd and 4th (automatic). I've heard this car has some sharp shifts, but I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and perhaps has a fix. Its not all the time, when this occurs, but happens frequently enough to worry me. Do you think I should change the transmission fluid? Or is it something else? Thanks!

transmission fluid would be a good start. With 60k, it wouldn't be a bad time...

Other than that, have a dealer check it out. There may be updates to the ECM for the transmission.

They happen to me occasionally in both G's. I agree with Joe, at 60k you are due for a flush and fill so see if that helps.

i do remember reading that the g35 transmission only uses the torque converter for 1st and 2nd gear... i dont remeber exactly... its in the FSM... but the shifts are harder when its not using the torque converter.

+1
get the fluid changed to matic S, that should be the only fluid they have, but make sure you get the new matic S transmission fluid.
