You are FAST!

I'm guessing that it just unscrews. Most OEM knobs are removed this way.

Actually...You MUST pull very very hard in order to get the knob itself off. After that is where it gets extremely hard to remove that stupid adaptor thing. It isn't a screw on, which sorta sucks, but I got the Sparco "Racing" knob and it was an allen head tightening type of shift knob.

For that little see through piece, you are either going to have to cut down straight the middle with an X-Acto then break it; or get some pliers and get some and pull with all your and hopefully you don't break something once you pull it off with all of your . (lol)

Once you get it off, though, enjoy some

Are you sure you have to cut the lower piece off? I wonder how the factory installed it in the first place? I'll call a dealership later today to see if the parts guy can tell by his assembly manual. Of course, if anyone here has a factory service manual, that may help.

I just called a local dealership. The parts guy told me that it looks like you'd have to just pull the knob off - no unthreading which may mean that finding an aftermarket knob will be tough to do. I think the last generation Dodge Neons had the same type of shift knob.

I didn't say cut the bottom piece(reverse lock on manuals) I meant the piece that is on under inside the shift knob once you pull that sucker off.The ones that are made for those types of knobs usually have a sort of plastic adapter you tighten with allen wrenches.
