I recently got an 07 g35x, at low speeds, usually around 40 mph, the car kinda freaks out and doesnt know what gear to go into, the rpms jump around and I have to put it into tip tronic to stop this. Its only when Im driving really mild, with minimal accelerator pressure. Is this a common problem amongst infiniti transmission/software or is this a personalized issue that I should address? Im still under warranty. My 06 had a similar issue but the new one is a bit more traumatic.

You know, I've been noticing the same thing with my car, but mine does it between 1st and 2nd gear as if it doesn't know whether to shift up or not AND usually only happens when the car is "cold" or briefly warmed up after being "cold". If I hit the gas a little bit more it goes away or if I switch to tiptronic. I've also noticed it's been shifting a little hard in stop & go traffic. Maybe I need to go have it checked out.. but most likely, they say that they weren't able to replicate the problem.

Let me know if you get any new info on this. I've been testing my car for a month just to see what it could be.

thats strange. have you tried resetting the ECU since you have been experiencing this?

Actually I just checked my car out today when I got home from work and it also does it in tiptronic. I reset my ECU a few weeks ago and i thought it went away, but it came back. My 96 Mazda 626 had the same problem =/

are you in a cold climate?? there could be issues with the transmission fluid's viscosity due to temperature. i would take in to dealer. good luck and please update us.

I've felt weirdness before but not to the point where I've had to take it into DS mode. In the coupe I can constantly "trip up" the transmission while in DS mode playing around with 2>1 downshifts. Seems to be no "repair" for it as the problem has been noted but no solution supplied.

brought it to the dealer, of course they said they couldn't find anything wrong, but at least they documented it. Still under warrenty, but my gfs mad that we payed big money for a infiniti certified pre owned that isn't perfect. Btw still acts up

Sorry for resurrecting this thread from the dead, but I finally got around to getting the car fixed. I took it to the dealer and told them I wanted this TSB done:

ITB07-045: http://2007.infiniti.g35x.googlepages.com/ITB07-045.pdf

The service rep told me there was an updated version which is ITB07-045A, so he performed that update.

Just in case anyone else was wondering how to fix the problem. =)

Good Luck!

i got this same syptoms on my 2010 g37x... they proformed a software update and it reduced the problem...

basically if im in a rush and i dont fully warm up the car, and come to a quick stop at a stop sign the car will hesitate, then over rev slightly then kick into gear... smh...

this has only happened on cold mornings thus far... and the dealer didnt find anything wrong with my tranmission. I am about to hit 60k and they still havent recommended me change my transmission fluid yet. I'm probably just going to get it done at 60k regardless.
