SErious G20t Problem

Hey guys , i've got a problem with my 1999 infiniti g20t.and from what i hear ,if theres anyone that can solve this problem its you guys. so...whenever i start the car or i'm stopped at idle, the rpm drops rapidly and the car vill cut off unless i keep it balanced at over 1000....any ideas of what this could be ...or has anyone ever experienced this...im getting a a service engine soon light but i dont know how to check the code..theres no way to check it without a scanner is there? PLEASE HELPPPthx

Based on that information, I would say you have a MAF issue. We really need to find out what code you are throwing first. You can pull the code off the ecu using the diagnostics knob on the ecu.

ok took a little while but the code is for the maf sensoris there something i can use to try cleaning it b4 completely changing it?

Mist Windex over the end of the MAF so that a little of it will fall on the sensor (spraying it on directly could damage it), then use a shopvac or whatever to blow some air through to dry it.
