A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

hey guys...i am looking to buy a different car (cheap on insurance)well there is a 1993 nissan sentra w/ a sr20det for sale for about 7500. dyno 270 to the wheels, hks airflow/intercooler, boost control is all it says about it. not so sure i like the body style, but are there any good sites out there that have body kits for sale (other ext. mods)?? of course i don't wanna give 7500 for it, but is it worth maybe 6000-6500 or so...less?? well just wonderin what someone else thought

thanks

Well, the car will be fairly fast but I am not sure what you are wanting exactly. If you want wild body kits and stuff there isn't a lot out on the B13s. They are excellent cars and well worth the money but I would ask how many miles on the motor. I would try to get tehm down in price a bit though. The price of teh swap gets you to the $3500 or so range and maybe a little bit higher and teh car is prolly worth ~2000 give or take a little so... The classic SE-Rs are very nice cars at least from a performance standpoint.

7500 is a bit steep for a 93. If it was a 200sx, than that would be a little different. But like Cory said. 1500-2k for a car+3500-4K for everything needed for a swap. IMO, if I didn't already own a classic with a DET, I would not buy one already built. Do it yourself, learn as you go along, so that if anything needs to be tuned or fixed at least you know what the hell is going on instead of buying someone elses project. Spend roughly 5500-6K and do it how you want. I love my classic, even more than the Spec. Hell got a 6K car that embarrasses 30K+ cars all day long and is cheap on insurance.;)

id say if it wasnt a 2oosx or an se-r, then 75oo is quite a bit, if he has lower mileage on the sr2o, then sounds like a nice project car to work up from, and 27o at the wheels is quite a claim, so there mite be a reliability issue at hand, go check it out and make sure there are no big problems with it

I would say that the motor probably has low mileage considering most people with B13's aren't putting turbos on the existing motor.. they either go with a BlueBird or GTiR. The claim on those motors is 30K roughly due to tough emissions in Japan. 270 @ the wheels is an easy mark to hit, guys with turbo SE-Rs are doing with ease. I have a small T25(BlueBird motor) and Iam putting down 230-240whp. You don't run into serious issues until about the 300whp mark. Trannies are the weakest point. The motor can handle up to 400-420 on stock internals due to it's low compression, piston oil squitters, etc.. But definately go check it out.

Question: I use to own a 90 or 91 model Sentra (year escapes me at the moment). I am looking for a 240 but am considering the Sentra. I put that thing through hell and she kept going.

Any way the question. What can you do to beef up the tranny on the early 90's model???? Of course price is a factor. Just curious.

It would have to be an awesome body kit for me to put it on.I like the fact that 99% of the people you meet wont have a clue that your Sentra has 250-300hp.Nothing like a good sleeper.I am looking at getting into a similar project.I want to take a 99-02 G20t and boost it.I am planning on doing the wheel/tires/suspension, then the turbo kit and brakes.I may throw a front lower lip on but I dont really want a body kit even though there are some smooth ones out there.

I haven't seen a smooth one yet. Those are just the only ones I could find in short notice.

I switched puters back at the house and neglected to load my old internet favorites to the new one. Will have to hook my tower back up on day I'm off. I am way more helpfull with parts and kits when I have my puter set up properly. Comes from having too much time, no money, and no girl friend.
