I've been noticing this ever since the Versa was new... at lower rpms when I am accelerating from a dead stop... there is often a very loud (for me anyway) deep deep base rumble that occurs between 800-1200 rpm; it isn't terrible as one quickly gets past that range, but when there is heavy traffic and a lot of 0-20mph driving... I notice it.

But no one else in the car does...

Just uber sensitive ears? Or something to check out?

I knew as soon as I read your issue you had a car with the CVT. On the Versas with CVTs, below around 1400 RPM, there is a sound that sounds like you are bogging the engine down. Several members have noticed the same thing, just as I have. There's really nothing you can do to correct this. Its all in the programming of the Electronic Control Module. What really puzzles me is Nissan did not pick this up during their prototype testing. Maybe they did but elected to go with the MPGs versus the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness). I just make a point to stay out of that RPM range (below 1400) whenever I can.
