The driver's side seat heater no longer works in the low position. The light on the switch doesn't come on but does come on in the high position and heats fine in the high position. Are there seperate heating elements for the two levels? If not, I'm suspecting the switch itself is the problem.

Thoughts?

If you only get the one indicator light, the switch is bad (or perhaps dirty contacts).

Here's the schematic excerpt:
the elements are the same for hi or low, but the current flow thru the elements (heat dissipation) is switched.

So it definitely sounds like the switch then.

Off to eBay.

Thanks for the confirmation, guys.

I have a question: does anyone without heated seats been able to convert the shift lever to heated seats? I was quite dismayed last year when I attempted to replace the shift lever with one that has heated seats, because my replacement seats were equipped with heated elements.

Problem is, the shift box does not come straight up. Also the shift lever doesn't simply unscrew off, it's still attached to a whole piece. Tried to do it during my last savage yard visit but came up wasted time. Seems like there is no way to get heated seats if not equipped unless willing to take the bolt off the location underneath.
