as title states, yes i seacrched. i always search first. but i cant wait any longer need to get this damn car fixed.

have a 93 hatch with stock ka, intake, exhaust, 255 FP, test pipe, down pipe, header. new batt, new alternator, new starter.
car cranks all day, doesnt start. as far as i can tell fuel is good. compression is good.
my problem is when i was testing spark. each plug wire gives an orangish color. i check coil wire, also orange. this is why im at a loss.
i have replaced everything from the coil to the plugs. coil, wires, dizzy, plugs, cap, rotor, etc. all of it is either new or reman(dizzy).
i need to figure this out. is there something im missing?
thanks guys

Any codes????
What about timing, have you used a timing light? And its worth borrowing or spending $45-50 to get a fuel psi gauge.
It cranks so you have power to the starter, you have spark ( although it may not be right at the distributor), you say compression is good, and you have a 255 pushing fuel.
Hmmmmmm.......... more info, this is something easy.

There is one thing you missed ....ignitor. also I had the same. Problem on my SR....I had fuel and spark but car wouldn't start. Ended up being the start signal wire. Since your car is stock there is a start signal fuse by your left foot driver side. Check to see if you have 12v going through it when cranking the car.

^ Agreed with both, and make sure you check for codes

There is an Ignitor chip on the coil as well ( small chip with 2 screws) get one from a junkyard off of any nissan car or truck with a ka24de. the difference will be $15 to $100+ I hear they rarely go out though.

car has ran before. had some problems awhile ago, been slowly fixing everything that pops up trying to get it fixed again and on the road. i havent check for codes in awhile but the last ones were 12 (maf) and 21 (ignition circuit) i think. i might have those backwards. but ive reset the ecu at least twice since then, and have driven it (ran like s*** but it drove) once. i believe timing is right but i cant get it to run so i can check it with a light. dizzy timing was spot on last time i did it and i havent taken it out since i did it last. so it should be at least close to being in time. and like i stated above, yes it has spark, but it is very weak. very orange. darkish orange. which is why im leaning towards an electrical problem now. maybe a broken or shorted wire going to the coilpack or ignitor. any ideas?
also forgot to mention the last time the car ran, it ran richer than s***. like burned my eyes rich.

Well I would definitely address that maf code....unplug it and see if it can start. If it can't than you'll need to address the Ignition code. I would start from scratch and fallow the fsm to a t. You check that ignitor yet?

Do you have injector pulse? After cranking have you checked the plugs? Gas fouled? Code 21 ignition signal you may not have injector pulse. Check the plugs and see if wet or dry.

The fuse is with the fuses for your stereo and stuff. By. The Clutch pedal. Look at your fuse cover. It should tell you witch one. It should say start signal or St signal. When your trying to start the car check to see if you have close to 12v. This is actually the wire to the ecu that puts the ecu in"start mode". You can check it there too. Its the orange wire.

thanks compact ill check that too.
and last time i checked, about two weeks ago, i had a good pulse on all injectors. after cranking plugs do get gas fouled. not soaked but theres deff gas on them. when i checked the injectors last they were all good.

checked hot wire (key on) to the coil. gets the same as battery voltage. replaced ignition control module (ignitor chip thing on side of coil) same thing. tried my old coil, still orange spark. i need some help guys. car cranks, no start. redid distributor timing, didnt help. plugs get gas on them so i know fuel is at least getting to the combustion chamber. might be too much gas but not so much that it wouldnt start. spark is orange color coming strait out of the coil pack.the only thing i can come up with is maybe a bad computer. but idk when it would have fried. only driven it once in the last two months and it ran but ran like a** and super rich.
any ideas?

what your describing still sounds like a bad coil..

your getting batt voltage to the coil, the coil jumps it from 12v > 12,000v. that is the ONLY thing in the ignition system that jumps voltage, if your getting a weak spark, i would suspect a bad coil.

how is the resistance of your spark plug wires? if the coil wire going from the coil to the distributor is damaged, or bad, could also cause a weak spark.

i guess i can check the coil again. anyone know what the resistance of the coil should be? ill check the wires too.
